I want a full body makeover...!! Want to look totally new..!! Anyone tried looking from ugly duckling to swan?

Hi, well ive always been updating my looks but this time I just wanna look totally different - a new me..!! You know they have a before and an after piece in magazines?? Well I wanna look just glam. Ive got black hair, dark brown eyes, creamy skin and I normally wear black......so any ideas what I can do to look totally fab like from a magazine?? Creativity is welcome and i would really appreciate if anyone has had a personal experience from ugly duckling to a swan....!! HELP!!!
