My ex asked?

I broke up with my boyfriend last weekend. He had asked me to attend a banquet with him and I had agreed to it. I umed that he didn't want me to go with him now, and one of his friends had even told me he was going with someone else now. I wasn't bothered because its his banquet, but i do still care about him. (I broke up with him bc of too much drama that he created). He called me this morning and told me he still really wants to go with me. Does that mean he still likes me?
