Shia/Sunni Unity...Can we on yahoo at least try?

I'm a sunni (but in all honesty I'm not religious). I do hope that one day there is will sunni/shia unity. I'm very willing to befriend shias. But in all my experiences, shias will look away immediately (in a way that they are higher/ bigger or whatever) than sunnis. So I really never have the chance to even smile or say 'salaam' to them. Hopefully one day, things will change.
