If I wear ankle weights all day...?

I work in an office environment, but I am a vegetarian and eat fairly healthy, although I've still been steadily gaining a pound here and there. Would wearing ankle weights help to reduce the gaining of weight, even if I were to find 2-3 pound weights instead of 5? Or maybe just wearing them for a couple hours a day as oppose to all day to avoid the stress on joints etc.
