Grade 8 Valedictorian Speech Help?
Ok - this speech is really right now 5 out of 10 - average-boring speech. But it is up to you to make it warm, meaningful, and more personal. Use at least one specific anecdote that demonstrates connections made, or a lesson learned, something that has people from the school, people who deserve recognition in it. Try to draw on at least one personal easpect you struggled with or came to terms with or learned from in your speech - it feels risky but it will be listened to and people will respond to you well - it is brave to do this. Give thanks and recognition to your teachers - be specific - if the math teacher was patient, or the science teacher did fun experiments, say it! End with a funny and heartwarming anecdote if possible. These aspects will make your speech much better - and I say this as a teacher as well as the parent of a student who gave such a speech, with great success.
